Well today is e-mazing in two ways. First of all, it's Presidents Day. Secondly, [FOoM] won their 5th match in a row. This has actually happened before (holy shit!), but it's been awhile. Not since 2003, when [FooM] won 6 in a row (coincidentally enough, it also took place in February). To put the two together, not George W. Bush was our president has this happened. In 2003 I was a senior in High School. Legendary clans such as [DO], DIVISION, (!), -|{-, [CoS], [CwO], |404|, NtN, and tM still existed. In 2003 we caught Saddam hiding, Tampa Bay beat Oakland in the Super Bowl (both teams are horrible now) and LOTR: Return of the King came out. Ah yes, it was a good year indeed.

So R1 I sat while Calisto, Headshot, Mizan and Suab handled the offense duties. Defense was Fornaught, zs, Crisis, and Leeg. I just sat in vent and listened to the O comms and Pearl Jam while chatting with various people, including Mon "Hi, I forgot today was monday and that we have a match" iker on IRC. Pretty much instantly I hear "flag on floor", "tossed", "Lasers down", among other encouraging things and figure things are going at least fairly well. They call the area to the left of the ramp everything from the "T" to the "Y" to the "Donut" to the "shithole" to "spamland". Then I hear headshot say that he thinks he threw the flag in the balcony...not sure if he really did throw it up there or not (nor did he it seems). Mizan says something about OvO screwing up his chance of a coast to coast cap (pwned). Finally when the round ends Calisto says we should've had more caps (of course) :p R1 ends 100-30 with the Moofers taking it.
R2 we ran almost a whole different offense. Myself (caedere), Azlan, and Vertigo came in for Headshot, Mizan, and Suab while Calisto played again. Defense replaced Forn with Suab on engie while the other three defenders stayed in. During practice my connection was being gay for some reason, but I joined the K}{R server a little early and it seemed to be fine. Naturally, as the match started, it wasn't fine. My ping was anywhere from 150-350 for pretty much 2/3 of the match. It really reminded me of my 56k days, playing with that ping every match. It was a memory that'd I'd like to forget, but tonight it came back to haunt me. Hopefully I wasn't sputtering all over the place, since I hate facing players that do that to me :( Well the other three offensive players did a good job of picking up the slack I created and brought home cap after cap. Except Azlan, who lost a flag in the pit :p Also their engie wrenched me and I saw one of our d players go sniper right at the end. R2 ends 140-60.
Final score 240-90. gg K}{R, r2 was clean and fun (didn't play r1) and gg silver wooo. On to gold and getting raped many times :(( |
